New Shows: Opening February 7th

February 7th is busy for the Ladies Doom! If you are on the East Coast, Midwest or West Coast there is a show for you. 

 The Zealot's Elixir - Modern Eden - CA


Modern Eden Gallery is excited to welcome gallery favorites, Doubleparlour as curators for their upcoming exhibit, “The Zealot’s Elixir”. All work for this exciting exhibition is  sculpture or three-­dimensional in a variety of mediums including ceramic, resin, wood, and found objects. The impressive roster of artists includes international artists as well as many from the thriving local Bay Area community. They were chosen by Doubleparlour because of their work holds emotional and intellectual qualities that engage the viewer, as well as a commitment to perfecting their craft. The theme of the show is based false prophets and snake oil. The artists each present a unique interpretation on this theme that embodies trickery, faith, hope, and lies.

Featuring dynamic 3D works from Crystal Morey, J-RYU, Su Limbert, Erika Sanada, Tokyo Jesus, Steve Ferrera, Mab Graves, Carisa Swenson, Sarah Davey, Liz McGrath, Allison Sommers, Michael Campbell, Miso, Lana Crooks, Lucien Shapiro & Minka Sicklinger, John Casey, Sheri DeBow, Calvin Ma, Jaime Lakatos, Troy Coulterman, Elliot Jackson, and doubleparlour.


The opening reception will be held at Modern Eden Gallery on Saturday, February 7 from 6-9pm. Curators, Ernie and Cassandra Velasco (Doubleparlour) and select featured artists will be in attendance at the reception.  The exhibition will be on display through March 7, 2015 and is free and open to the public.

myplasticheart presents When Hell Freezes Over 2 a group exhibition featuring custom one-of-a-kind pieces based on Lou Pimentel’s original character – Junior. A sequel to 2010’s first showing of Junior’s predecessor, Cranston Fellows Jr., this time around the baby incarnation takes the spotlight as he is transformed and re-imagined by a tremendous lineup of artists, the who’s who of today’s art toy scene. With over 30 artists on board this show will be a sight to see.
